There is a slight error in the lyrics of the black man rapping section. After the point where he mentions that seeing a school bus while driving makes him tick tock, he also says it makes him “scream”.

Okay, so the song is AWFUL but as someone who believes all teens are oversexed and drugged out and the future is DOOMED (with no evidence of this other than, I guess, watching 60 minutes or SVU or Twilight), it’s kinda nice to see teens just being teens. Yes, the lyrics cause brain damage… and a 30-some yr. old guy in a teen music video is spooky. Having said that, Her voice is great, she looks like a young version of Angelina Jolie, and the melody is addictive. If some producer with half a brain signs her to a label she is going to make it big in pop music.

Hey … I am 61 and I get it. It is a song like a tweet. It is thoughts moment by moment and the whole song covers the length of time it takes her to get in the car and decide on a seat. Honestly, how can anyone say it is the worst song ever. My God, I grew up on the Beatles and Clapton and Hendrix, and I had to sit and endure the crap put out by Britney Spears and the like.
Something about this kid catches me. If every thing she does from now on is more of the same rapid fire rap then she has nothing. But, if she is creative enough to venture out and go places with it, who knows. The Beatles kept changing and going to new places with music. It was a journey we all took along with them. There have been groups like the Cure who kept repeating the same thing – not enough variety to call them new song much less a new style. And with Rebecca Black, I don’t want too many 5 minutes trips from the sidewalk to the care extolling the virtues of any particular day. However, is their a spark. I might see a tiny flickr. Hey, she is 13. John Lennon didn’t become a genius until his twenties. I can certainly listen to her better than most trash I hear. Most of you won’t get this, but it has a sound that resembles some taking 50’s girl group songs and rapping instead of singing. Frankly, some some nifty little vocal tags on the ends of some line. I personally think that the inane lyrics of Friday only serve to create more of an internet buzz and lower the standards of the general populace such that any future endeavour made by Black (i.e. My Moment) would be compared to Friday, which was ingeniously bad, and the contrast would prove beneficial towards Rebecca’s career. Hence, she’s actually smarter than we all give her credit for. I wrote an article analyzing her strategy lol
