Kanye West feat. Dwele, “Power” (Lyrics + MP3)

28 May

Hello, Kanye. Goodbye, rest of rap.

Kanye’s right: No one man should have all this power. This is a mean, arrogant, King Crimson-sampling beat (that sounds like nothing I’ve ever heard from ‘Ye) with a dollop of introspection and a helping of greatness. Kanye’s the ‘Ye of old plus the ‘Ye of new here, rapping about broken systems and Mongolian furs and ultimately sneering at everyone less gifted than he is.

Maybe he should be. Listen to something this gloriously, thoroughly realized, and you might wonder why you listen to anything else.

Kanye West feat. Dwele, “Power” | Via P & P

Lyrics:

I’m livin’ in the 21st century
Doin’ something mean to it
Do it better than anybody you ever seen do it
Screams from the haters, got a nice ring to it
I guess every superhero need his theme music

No one man should have all that power
The clock’s tickin’, I just count the hours
Stop trippin’, I’m trippin’ off the power
(21st century schizoid man)

The system broken, the schools closed, the prisons open
We ain’t got nothin’ to lose, ma’fucka, we rollin’
Huh? Ma’fucka, we rollin’
With some light-skinned girls and some Kelly Rowlands
In this white man’s world, we the ones chosen
So goodnight, cruel world, I see you in the mornin’
Huh? I see you in the mornin’
This is way too much, I need a moment

No one man should have all that power
The clock’s tickin’, I just count the hours
Stop trippin’, I’m trippin’ off the power
‘Til then, fuck that, the world’s ours

And then they (Go)
And then they
And then they (Go)
And then they
And then they (Go)
And then they (21st century schizoid man)

Fuck SNL and the whole cast
Tell ’em Yeezy said they can kiss my whole ass
More specifically, they can kiss my asshole
I’m an asshole? You niggas got jokes
You short-minded niggas’ thoughts is Napoleon
My furs is Mongolian, my ice brought the goalies in
Now I embody every characteristic of the egotistic
He know, he so, fuckin’ gifted
I just needed time alone, with my own thoughts
Got treasures in my mind but couldn’t open up my own vault
My childlike creativity, purity and honesty
Is honestly being prodded by these grown thoughts
Reality is catchin’ up with me
Takin’ my inner child, I’m fighting for it, custody
With these responsibilities that they entrusted me
As I look down at my dia-mond-encrusted piece

Thinkin’, no one man should have all that power
The clock’s tickin’, I just count the hours
Stop trippin’, I’m trippin’ off the powder
‘Til then, fuck that, the world’s ours

And then they (Go)
And then they
And then they (Go)
And then they
And then they (Go)
And then they (21st century schizoid man)

Colin, Powers, Austin, Powers
Lost in translation with a whole fuckin’ nation
They say I was the obamanation (abomination) of Obama’s nation
Well, that’s a pretty bad way to start the conversation
At the end of day, goddammit, I’m killin’ this shit
I know damn well y’all feelin’ this shit
I don’t need yo’ pussy, bitch, I’m on my own dick
I ain’t gotta power trip, who you goin’ home with?
How ‘Ye doin’? I’m survivin’
I was drinkin’ earlier, now I’m drivin’
Where the bad bitches, huh? Where ya hidin’?
I got the power, make yo’ life so excitin’

(So excitin’, so excitin’, suicidin’, suicidin’)

Now this would be a beautiful death
I’m jumpin’ out the window
I’m lettin’ everything go
I’m lettin’ everything go

N-now-now this would be a beautiful death
I’m jumpin’ out the window
I’m lettin’ everything go
I’m lettin’ everything go

Now this would be a beautiful death
I’m jumpin’ out the window
I’m lettin’ everything go
I’m lettin’ everything go

You got the power to let power go

(21st century schizoid man)

More Luciferian lingo, from the boy who got jingo
You know I go, way back to Ohio
I ain’t pretendin or dead endin’ while
    rothschild be spendin’
I can rock this boat all the way to china
I can mock Kanye to Aisa Minor
At the end of the day who’s more sour?
The dude that sold his soul for power.

You want me to fix it? I have this neat edit button.

I absolutely love your response “rpm1122”. People don’t understand, even though you can’t actually sell you soul, that is what Kanye has done all with the people he works with, Jay and Bey etc. Everything he was taught and has known he has demoralized it with this crap all for the power of trying to God of whom which he could never achieve! SAD, what people will do for fame and fortune.

Edits would probably include how he changes different lines in the hooks, such as the last one he uses powder rather than power…other things are missing articles.

    Woah..
So I grew up.. Observed life for 21 years. Been a hip hop fan. Hung out with non white people. The experience was very apriciated. Live life..only way to learn right? The message kanye puts out.. Is fucked up. That’s just my opinion. It turns me racist, and it makes most of yall entertainment niggas look like fuckin deamons. Shits crazy.. Correct me if I’m lookin at life at the wrong angle. But if u gotta smoke some weed or something to get ur state of mind of thinkin deep into life on earth. Fame is some evil shit.. I built fame for my self.. Spun for major artists concerts including jay-z, who i think is responsible for this message kanye is puttin out. These ignorant devil ass niggas sellin there soul to the devil for power and fame and money. Someone needs to cage the black president and put him in a lab and study him. Niggas a conartist and predictions made about him…I believe will happenm hopeful not if a good power can be designed to fix this world. Niggers need to stop being looked at as niggers so life and power can change them into being treated as equal as us white people. So world, you can either follow the devils path with these con artists and destroy the world while they take over. Or invent a power to defeat there power for us to all be equal. These message these african people are puttin out are puttin the word racist in my head. I have my own thoughts, I don’t think or share any bodys thoughts in this world or tv. Don’t vote for that black president. Everyone deserves a chance no matter what color, and I appoloigize if he does make this world a better place for all of us humans, all races, sexes, and nationalities.. Etc. God bless america.
Please reply with your thoughts world. Thanks
